NBA 2K24: How to Adjust Player Minutes on MyLeague & MyTEAM

NBA 2K24, the latest addition to the esteemed NBA 2K series, continues to provide a thorough and immersive basketball gaming experience. In this guide, we will explore a key aspect of the game that can significantly influence your team’s performance: adjusting player minutes in both MyLeague and MyTEAM modes.

MyLeague

Accessing the Coaching Menu: From the NBA 2K24 main menu, navigate to the MyLeague mode. Once there, head to the Coaching Menu and select ‘Coach Gameplan’. This is where you’ll adjust player minutes.

Choosing Your Team: In ‘Coach Gameplan’, select the team whose gameplan you wish to modify. You can do this by pressing ‘X’ on PS4 and PS5, or ‘Y’ on Xbox One & Series X|S.

Entering the Paint Mode: After selecting your team, you’ll enter Paint Mode. This interactive mode allows you to manually adjust player rotations. The top scale represents the total number of quarters, while the right scale indicates the total minutes played by a player.

Understanding the Default Gameplan: By default, each player is assigned 4-7 minutes per quarter. If you want to change this, you can clear the default gameplan by pressing in the Right Stick on your controller.

Assigning Player Minutes: To allocate minutes to a player, press ‘X’ on PlayStation or ‘A’ on Xbox when the player’s name is highlighted on the screen. If you wish to assign more or less than one minute, press ‘X’ or ‘A’ once and use the D-Pad right/left to add or remove minutes from a player. Once you’re done, press ‘X’ or ‘A’ once more to stop ‘painting’.

Erasing and Undoing Actions: To erase assigned minutes, double tap ‘X’ on PlayStation or ‘A’ on Xbox. If you need to undo a previous action, simply tap ‘L1’ on PlayStation or ‘LB’ on Xbox once.

Switching Between Positions: You can switch between different positions (center, point guard, shooting guard, etc.) by pressing ‘Y’ or ‘Triangle’, then using the D-pad up/down.

Saving Your Gameplan: Once you have completed a full rotation timeline, remember to save and name it for future reference.

MyTEAM

Accessing Lineups Management: From the MyTeam root page, go to ‘Lineups Management’ and select ‘Edit Lineup’.

Finding Adjust Minutes: Once you’re in the ‘Edit Lineup’ section, navigate using the right button or ‘R1’ on PlayStation to go over to ‘Coaching’. Here, you’ll find the ‘Adjust Minutes’ option.

Manual Adjustment Warning: Before you proceed, the game will inform you that changing player minutes will set your player minutes preference to manual. This can be reset to automatic in the Coach Settings menu if desired.

Adjusting Minutes: The total minutes assigned must equal 240, but how you divide these minutes among your players is entirely up to you. The allocation of these minutes can be adjusted based on the strategy you plan to implement for your game.

Returning Control to the Coach: If at any point you want the coach to reassume control of player minutes, simply go back to Coach Settings and change Player Minutes from manual to auto. The coach will then make the necessary adjustments.
