FIFA 23: How to Mute Voice Chat

There is no shortage of toxic players on the internet. Even you might have indulged in it when you had a particularly bad day. The voice chat feature is great when you’re playing with people with a healthy attitude, but for the rest who vent their frustrations in online lobbies, there is a mute feature. It is one of the most sought-after features in online competitive games, and this guide discusses how you can use it effectively.

HOW TO MUTE THE OPPONENT’S MIC DURING A MATCH IN FIFA 23

The simplest way to silence voice chat is to press L3 on PS4 & PS5 or the Left Stick on the Xbox One & Series X|S. You can do so before picking your kit.

Here are a few other ways you can turn off voice chat in the game:

PS4 & PS5

Hold down the PlayStation button on your PS5 controller to open the Game Base.

Now go to the rightmost option and choose Game Base Settings.

You can now see the Voice Chat Settings. Toggle the slider to disable/enable online voice chat.

If you’re on the PS4 hit the PlayStation button to launch the Quick Menu.

Then go to Sound/Devices and disable/enable the audio chat from there.

Xbox One & Series X|S

Go to Settings > Accounts > Privacy.

Once you’re in Privacy, navigate to the Customize option and finally turn off Communication with Voice and Text.

PC / ORIGIN

You cannot disable voice chat on the Origin Launcher. There is a solution, but it will prevent EVERYONE from talking to you in-game.

To do so, open the Origin Launcher and go to Options.

You can either set Voice Chat Activation to push-to-talk or completely mute the entire thing altogether by toggling the sliders off.

Remember to apply the change before exiting.
