Mortal Online 2: Ultimate Construction Guide
Mortal Online 2: How to Build Your House or Castle?
Is your guild seeking a base of operations to protect resources from thieves and other threats? In Mortal Online 2, you can choose between three types of buildings, each one more expensive than the previous in terms of resources and taxes.
Yes, you must pay taxes in the game, which should come as no surprise given how realistic the MO2 has been thus far. However, constructing buildings isn’t easy as you’ll find out in this comprehensive guide. You can also check out our other Mortal Online 2 guides here.
Mortal Online 2 – Understanding Deeds
- You’ll need to purchase a deed (with at least zero standing in that civilization) to legally recognize ownership of the house once construction is completed.
- You can place the deed within the foundations once construction begins. A deed plate appears once you’ve established ownership.
- Ownership of the house can be transferred through the deed plate. You can also list anyone as either a friend or a co-owner.
- Only the owners and co-owners can change the key of a building.
Please note that this invalidates all existing keys.
- Players listed on the deed plate can log off within a 20-second timer due to the increased safety provided.
- The nation that issued the deed will not regard anything done by anyone listed on the deed plate as a crime while within the house.
Attacking people outside the house (as long as the attacker is inside) will not register as a criminal offense if the region is unpatrolled. However, in patrolled regions, criminal activities are limited within a house.
Mortal Online 2 – Player housing
- You can build a house anywhere physically possible. However, some regions require a deed while others are obstructed by NPCs.
- You cannot build a house in the sea, swamp, or too close to another structure.
- The cost of a house varies depending on its size. A small house costs 150g while a medium one costs 300g.
- You’ll need the following to build a house:
Resources (wood and stone), house pack, and a building pack
An engineer (builds a lot faster than ordinary people)
Helpers, as many as you can get
- For instance, you’ll need 600kg wood, 825kg stone, and 75kg metal to build a medium house. (100kg = 10,000 resource units)
- Building packs can be bought in any city and include locks, hinges, nails – all the things you can’t gather quickly and need expert crafting skills to create.
House packs contain a set of six keys.
- You can build in a variety of styles and sizes. Once built, you can change the floors walls and decorate the interior with furniture, chests, and other items.
- You can lock chests with a key, and any items inside them don’t disappear as the ones dropped on the ground.
- Anyone possessing a house key can open the door and choose to leave it locked or unlocked. Strangers can enter your home through unlocked doors, so remember to lock them. You can also create multiple keys for your house.
- Keys are tradeable and can also be salvaged off dead players.
Mortal Online 2 – Explaining Keeps
- Castles (Keeps) is a large multi-story structure suitable for a small group of players and costs 1000g. Every nation has a special interest in these structures.
- You can’t build them from scratch; you can only repair existing ruins.
- A Castle and its surrounding area are considered a patrolled region even if no guards are present.
- Soldiers will attack you if you build a Castle without a deed.
- Anyone who wants to build a house within a castle’s control area must get a deed from the Castle owner. Standard deeds are invalid, and if you make a house, you’ll have to do so without a deed.
However, soldiers will not attack a house (without a deed) built in the controlled region.
- The owner/guild of any Castle is responsible for patrolling the controlled region. They can freely sell, give or trade the house deeds in the controlled area as they please.
They are also in charge of establishing and enforcing the law in the Castle. Even if there are criminal activities in the area, the nation has no control over the Castle and its surroundings.
- Please keep in mind that hired guards are bound by the original nation’s laws. They are pretty useless until you have a deed for the Castle.
- A “lock” refers to a specific piece of land that players must purchase and develop. You can place an NPC in the castle and collect taxes from the owners of buildings in the surrounding lands. Castles are owned by large guilds (small guilds will have their castles taken away), and the cost is 4000 gold coins.
- You can even place Craft workbenches (100g) in the structure, and even animals can be left safely inside the borders.
- Houses and fortresses serve as transshipment bases where resources are stored (protected from incoming attacks) and processed before being transported to the city.
- To build a house or fortress, you must first purchase a scroll of the corresponding structure from a House Vendor in any city, then find a suitable place and place the building’s frame (by clicking on the scroll to open the construction menu).
- You can provide keys to your friends, allowing them access to the castle. You can pledge resources, money, and keys through the sign to the left of the front door.
Mortal Online 2 – Understanding Legalities
- Nations do not allow you to build houses within their walls or within 60 feet of their outer walls.
- You can build anywhere within the game. But you’ll need a deed if you want to build a house in a nation-patrolled area.
- Guards will quickly destroy any buildings constructed in forbidden areas.
Additional Tips
- You can construct three types of buildings: houses, fortresses (Stronghold), and castles (Keep). Houses and forts can be placed in any flat area, but castles can only be placed in specific locations.
- You’ll need to deposit money regularly to maintain the integrity of any building. Otherwise, it will disappear from the world.
- After you’ve added building materials, grab a pickaxe and start building a structure – the health bar will gradually rise, and the foundation’s appearance will change.
- Decoration Vendors in any city sell furniture and building upgrades for the houses.
- Houses are relatively easy to build and extremely difficult to destroy, so you’re safe unless you have a dozen or so enemies willing to spend hours destroying your building.
- You must have at least a single unit of each material to start the building process. It is not necessary to use all of the resources right away.
- After you’ve built the groundwork, you can gradually build the structure by adding the remaining resources.
- You can get trapped in a building if you do not possess the key and if someone locks you inside.
- All buildings lose HP if the upkeep cost is not paid.
