Mortal Online 2: Ultimate Guide to Reputation & Standings

Killing players is generally frowned upon in games, but many people still do it anyway. Some do it for fun, others for revenge, or a quick buck. However, the Standing system in Mortal Online 2 is quite unique and prevents things from spiraling out of control. It stops players from committing any severe criminal acts by penalizing them if they are out of line.

Player-killing is an aspect of the game, and being aware of it can help you avoid being robbed or attacked, as well as allow you to take advantage of the system if you engage in the activity yourself. Let’s get started!

The basics of Standing in Mortal Online 2

As the player, you hold different Standings with every nation, which affects your ability to interact with NPCs in towns.

If Standing falls below zero, guards associated with that Nation will attack and kill you on sight when you approach a guarded section of said nation. Even some vendors may end up charging you different (often increased) tax rates when you trade with them.

You can view your overall standing on your character screen under the Statistics tab.

How to lose Standing in Mortal Online 2?

Criminal Activity – The quickest way to lose Standing is to engage in criminal activities, such as; attacking pets, blue players, and stealing from them.

Any of these actions will automatically give your character a criminal flag (debuff). Nearby guards will attempt to kill you, causing you to lose one Standing with the nation of that guard.

When you commit a criminal act, you lose your Standing. Furthermore, if you have a criminal flag on you, you will not be able to respawn in front of town priests.

Performing a criminal act triggers a 2-minute timer, and engaging in criminal activities within that time period won’t decrease your Standing any further.

Murder Count – If you kill a blue player, they can put a murder count on you when they respawn. If the count reaches 5 or above, you’ll lose the ability to put murder counts on players who kill you, and you’ll also be unable to resurrect with town priests. However, all murder counts drop off after 8 hours.

You lose Standing based on where the murdered players resurrect. So even if you kill someone in Vadda, if they resurrect at a Tindremic Priest, you’ll lose Tindremic Provinces standing.

Double standing loss – When you kill a player near or within a town or city, both Criminal Activity and Murder Count are triggered, and you lose 2 Standing points instead of 1.

War declaration – You can only attack other players during a war without incurring any negative effects. The soldiers will not attack you even if you kill players in a fortified town.

Only guilds have the authority to declare war on other guilds.

How to earn Standing in Mortal Online 2?

Parcel delivery – Involves delivering packages (paper deeds) to nearby cities. Visit the Task Vendor for quests to deliver deeds to other cities.

Upon delivery, you can choose one of the following rewards: Clade Gift Experience, Standing, and Gold Coin.

Special tasks – A new task was added on 13th January 2022. You have to accept it from the Tindrem task vendor.

The mission’s goal is to find a lost Tindremic Officer and give him the rescued deed.

Survival Tips during delivery

Get a horse and some armor for your horse before embarking on the journey, as bandits may attack you along the way.

Horses have a stamina bar that drains quickly when running. Ensure that you have a small stamina reserve at all times so that you can outrun any immediate threats as quickly as possible.

Miscellaneous tips & tricks

You can accept multiple tasks simultaneously.

Once you accept the task deed, it stays with you until delivered. Even if you drop all of your loot, the deed stays in your inventory. The deed also doesn’t disappear when you die. Instead, you’ll have to ‘accept’ it from the Task vendor like before.

Your destination city determines the standing/reputation you earn.

The amount of reputation gained is based on random chance. However, you will receive at least one unit of Standing. For instance, if the quest reward is 8 Standing, you might receive anywhere between 1-8 Standing.

You’ll become accustomed to the prices of goods in all cities after a few trips. You can make a lot of money by purchasing low-cost items and reselling them for a profit in another town.
