Crusader Kings III – Keyboard/Mouse Not Working – Issue Fix
Run the Game with Admin Rights
Make sure to kick things off right by using “Run as Administrator” when you’re getting the game installed and started up. Just give the game’s shortcut or setup file a right-click, and hit “Run as Administrator.”
Ditch the Extra Input Gear
Go ahead and unplug any extra stuff like controllers, graphics tablets, and whatnot, leaving just your keyboard and mouse connected. If you’ve got things like x360CE or vJoy running, make sure those are turned off too.
Turn Off Mouse Acceleration
So here’s the deal: you might wanna turn off that “Enhance pointer precision” option. Here’s how you can do that:
Windows 10: Hit WinKey+R, type “control” in the Run window, and hit OK. Then go to Mouse -> Pointer Options and make sure “Enhance pointer precision” is unchecked. Click OK and you’re good.
Windows 8.1, 7: Hit up Start -> Control Panel -> Mouse -> Pointer Options. Again, make sure “Enhance pointer precision” is unchecked and hit OK.
Disable the Touchscreen If You’re on a Tablet
If you’re on a tablet PC, make sure to plug in a keyboard and mouse and then go ahead and turn off the touchscreen for a bit.
Run the Game in Clean Boot Mode
Just a quick reminder: make sure no random third-party apps are messing with the game. Try installing and running it in clean boot mode -> you can find instructions on how to do that right here. And yeah, make sure you’re doing all this on an admin account.
