Crusader Kings III – Civil Wars Guide
Alright, let’s talk CK3 factions and the chaos they can bring. If you tell a faction’s ultimatum to take a hike, brace yourself — you’ve got a Civil War on your hands. When the faction goes rogue, they stop chipping in taxes and troops to the big boss (that’s you, the liege), and you can kiss some of your powers goodbye, like throwing folks in the slammer.
Now, these faction members? They’ll turn their backs on you and any vassals who didn’t join their little rebellion, but their main beef is with you, the liege.
If the dust settles and it’s a White Peace, meaning no clear winner, you, as the liege, get a free pass to imprison all those faction troublemakers.
But if the vassals pull off a win, they’ll make sure their demands are met, no questions asked…
Now, if you, the liege, show them who’s boss and win the Civil War? That’s a different story. All the faction members get a one-way ticket to your dungeons, and you rack up a sweet +20 Dread. Oh, and if this whole mess started because of Popular Opinion, every county that threw a tantrum gets a +20 Popular Opinion boost for a good 10 years. Talk about making up for lost time!
