To edit a manual save:

 

  • Right-click, select “7-Zip: extract here”

 

  • Rename the extracted ‘gamestate’ file to something with a .ck3 extension

 

  • Edit this plain-text save

 

  • Load it directly in the game (no need to re-compress)

 

Autosaves use a different format and cannot be edited the same way.
