FIFA 23 – How to Take Throw-ins and Do Fake Dummy Throws

Fake throws may not seem like much, but they are important for a reason. They aren’t the best moves in the game, but their sole purpose is to create a momentary disruption in the flow of the game, long enough to allow you to make your play. Here is how you can perform a dummy or a fake throw-in in FIFA 23.

HOW TO TAKE THROW-INS AND DO FAKE DUMMY THROWS

Firstly, decide the player you want to throw to and then choose which fake you want to use. They aren’t always accurate, but they provide enough information to make a calculated guess. Here is a list of all the standard positions:

Wingers and strikers usually burst forward.

Defenders accepting throws usually move back towards the back four.

Midfielders tend to return to their central starting position in the forward or the back.

Finally, to make a dummy throw press Square or Circle then X on your PS4 & PS5 or X or B, and then A on your Xbox One & Series X|S. These are the same controls as the fake shot.

Just make sure to point the Left Stick towards your target before pressing the second input (X/A).
