FIFA 23: How to Extend a Contract

You’ll need to extend your players’ contracts from time to time if you want them to keep playing for your club. There is a thing called Contract Expiry Signing in which the players agree that in the coming year, when their contract expires, they will sign for your club. Let’s take a look at the feature in detail.

HOW TO EXTEND A CONTRACT IN FIFA 23

Open the Career Mode and go to Squad.

Now select the Squad Hub.

Scroll down the list until you find a player whose contract is about to expire and to whom you want to offer a new contract.

You can either select Delegate Renewal to renew the old contract or Contract Negotiation to draft a new one with updated and improved clauses.

HOW TO SIGN PRE-CONTRACTS ON FIFA 23

You’ll have to set the Negotiation Strictness to Loose at the beginning of the Career mode.

Now, during the beginning of the season, visit the Transfer Tab and choose Search Players.

Make a list of players you want to sign pre-contracts and shortlist them.

Visit the Transfer Tab once again on January 1st, 2023.

Open up your shortlist and keep scrolling until you find the Show Actions option on each of your players.

The players with the Approach to Sign option visible are available for pre-contract signings.

There is little chance of you signing several pre-contracts at the start of the season, so you should visit a free agency at the end of the season if you want to find new players without transfer fees.
