NBA 2K23: How to Change Quarter Length

Quarter length might not matter to beginners, but for experienced players, it’s one of the best features in the game. For instance, a 6-minute quarter length is helpful when you want to quickly get hold of shooting badges. A shorter quarter equals more games and more points. Here is how you can change the quarter length of your games.

HOW TO CHANGE QUARTER LENGTH IN NBA 2K23

  • Go to the main menu and open Features.

  • Once inside, go to Settings under Options and scroll down to Quarter length.

  • Use the D-pad or the Left Stick to change the Quarter length according to your requirements.

  • You can set the length to anywhere between 1 and 12 minutes.

WHAT IS THE BEST RECOMMENDED QUARTER LENGTH

  • The ideal quarter length that most players prefer is around 89 minutes. Usually, anything above 8-minutes is considered higher than average.

  • If you like strategizing and playing mind games, then go for 12-minute quarters.

  • If you’re grinding for badges, then start the game at 5 minutes and then change to 8 or even 12 minutes.

WHY SHOULD YOU PLAY LONGER QUARTERS

  • Although most players prefer short games, the chances of getting steamrolled are quite high. A longer game lets you analyze the opposing teams’ strategies, thereby increasing the odds of a comeback.

  • You learn to use your bench and take advantage of free throws. You also learn how to use the game’s momentum to maintain your lead.

  • With enough time, you’ll be able to better recognize your opponents’ strategies and discover how to outplay them by spotting holes in their defenses.
