How to Tame and Ride a Horse in Mortal Online 2
Horses are an efficient mode of travel, allowing you to cover long distances with little effort. They are incredible creatures, and without them, Mortal Online 2 would be nothing more than a walking simulator.
It would be impractical to walk around the entire world of MO2 on foot. Unlike in other games, stamina does not replenish in less than 2 seconds in MO2; players must actively rest to recover their energy. The ultra-realistic nature of the game is unlike any other, and we have already covered some of it in our taming and domestication guide. However, this guide focuses solely on horses.
What do you need to tame a horse in Mortal Online 2?
- Other players can (and probably will) attack you in MO2 since it’s a PvP – based game. Seek cover and remain vigilant of your surroundings while you’re out searching for a trusty steed.
- Taming skill determines your chances of successfully taming a creature. Some creatures require a high skill level to be tamed, while others can’t be tamed and need to be dominated first.
- You’ll need the taming skill (under Domestication) to tame a horse. The table below outlines these requirements in detail:

How to find horses in Mortal Online 2?
- Horses can be found most commonly on open plains. Here is an interactive map of the game highlighting the exact location of horses in MO2.
- If you want to tame a horse quickly, bring it down to nearly 0 HP and use Tame on it.
- Press the P key to see pets here and your current pet points.Â
- Pet points determine the number of pets you can have. Each pet you control costs a certain number of pet points. You can only tame a new creature if you have enough pet points to control it.
- A higher Creature Control increases your total Pet Points.Â
- Different horses require a different amount of pet points. You can still tame a horse if you don’t have enough pet points, but it will eventually lose its taming, stop following you, and you won’t be able to mount it.Â
- You can lead untamed horses to the city and put them in your storage.
- Horses can also be named and traded (transferred) to another player from the Pet Menu.
- Remember to feed your horse with fresh vegetables and fruits.
- If you don’t have a horse, have lost it, or can’t find one to tame, go to the pet broker and press R. Sort the horses by price for a better view.
- Aside from horses, pet brokers sell other animals such as bears and pigs.
How to Ride a Horse in Mortal Online 2?
- Hold R to mount and W, A, S, and D keys to steer the horse.Â
- You can enter a slight trot by pressing W twice; pressing W again enables run mode, which will deplete stamina.
- Riding skills will improve over time, just like any other in-game skill.Â
- A low Riding skill will make you fall off the horse when you’re trying to mount or ride it. Keep practicing to improve your riding abilities.
- Horses without armor perish quickly. You can apply armor and bags to them via the pet menu (P).
- Your horse’s stamina increases as it levels up. Even if you do nothing, your horse ages and gains experience.
- You can store your horse in a stable, but it’ll cost you one silver per horse.
- Please note that you cannot store or stable your horse if it has equipment on it.
