How Does the New Loan System Work in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team?

FIFA 23 has introduced lots of new features and redesigned several older ones to match the standards of the present day. The Loan System is one such feature that received a massive rework. Loan players are temporary cards that you can try out for a set number of matches. You cannot extend their loan time with contracts, and the cards expire once their time is up. Let’s discuss the Loan System in further detail.

HOW DOES THE NEW LOAN SYSTEM WORK IN FIFA 23 ULTIMATE TEAM?

  • Loan players are special items that can be used in a limited number of games. You can identify loan player items by the distinct blue circle at the bottom right corner. It indicates the remaining number of games the player can play before their contract expires and the card is lost forever.

  • The key benefit of these items is that they are usually free and won’t expend the contracts of the rest of your cards. Moreover, it allows you to try out new items before purchasing them.

  • Here is everything you need to know about these loan player cards:

Contracts

The loan duration of the player remains unchanged if he is in the reserves or subs. However, you’ll be unable to extend the loan duration by using contracts, like you can do with normal cards.

Consumables

All consumables work fine with loan players. However, you’re better off saving the consumable items for an actual player.

Duplicates

You don’t have to discard a duplicate loan layer item. If you win one from a pack or through some reward, you can simply combine the two. Not only does the combined card consist of the sum of both contracts, but it also saves the stats from the first card.

Squad

There is no limit to how many loan player cards you can have in your squad. You can even own a definitive card and a loan player card for the same player. However, you’ll only be able to play with one at a time.

Transfer Market

Loan player items cannot be sold in the FUT Transfer Market. You’ll receive zero coins if you try to discard them, and you cannot use them for squad building challenges.

I’ve loved games ever since I was a child. I like playing them and sharing my feelings with other like-minded individuals. I started off writing as a hobby, and a few years later, my love for games is still as lively as ever and I intend to spread it throughout the gaming community.
