FIFA 23: How to Save Every Penalty Kick

Although penalty shots are rare, one good shot can decide whether you win or lose a game. It always helps to be prepared for anything and everything. Timing and the ability to read the opponent is key when it comes to saving penalty kicks, and this guide will help you become an expert in that skill. Let’s begin.

HOW TO SAVE EVERY PENALTY KICK IN FIFA 23

  • Keep an Eye on the Head – While attempting to stop a penalty shot, always track the shooter’s head movements. In most cases they’ll move their heads in the direction they are kicking the ball. It’s a subtle movement and is quite easy to miss. However, with a bit of practice, you’ll be able to track it almost every time.

Some players use the D-pad up button to hide the cursor, but that only hides the on-screen icon. You can still track their head movement, and if you’re good enough, you’ll be able to block the shot successfully 9 out of 10 times.

  • Nudge the Goalkeeper – Don’t just stand still. The opponent plays mind games. They may look right but shoot in the opposite direction. The best thing you can do is shimmy in the direction they are planning to shoot the ball. Don’t commit, simply move a little bit so that you’re prepared even if they shoot in the opposite direction

  • Natural Instincts – In case you’re confused, then know that most players instinctively aim in the right direction. If you don’t know where they are aiming, simply dive towards the right.

That’s everything on saving penalties. But if you want to get even better at the game, then consider reading our other FIFA 23 guides. They will help you take your game to the next level.

I’ve loved games ever since I was a child. I like playing them and sharing my feelings with other like-minded individuals. I started off writing as a hobby, and a few years later, my love for games is still as lively as ever and I intend to spread it throughout the gaming community.
