VOLTA ARCADE FIFA 23
FIFA 23 Volta introduces a new co-op mode called the Volta Arcade. You’ll party up with three other players in a series of mini-games. The rewards for winning the games are Season XP or Volta Coins. However, note that Volta Arcade will only be available for everyone on weekends.
HOW TO PLAY VOLTA ARCADE
- You will need to change the game mode to Volta Arcade from the Main Menu.
- Once you enter matchmaking, you’ll have to wait until you party up with three other players. You can also play with your friends.
- The party will have a 2-minute window to get ready for the match. Once the timer counts down to zero, you’ll have to play three mini-games.
WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT VOLTA ARCADE GAMES
There are eight party games available at launch. However, EA plans to add more to the list in the future. The list of existing mini-games are as follows:
- Corner Scramble – Each round, one to four balls will spawn in the middle of the pitch. Your objective here is to fight for loose balls and put them in your corner goal while a timer runs in the background. Score as many goals as possible within the designated time to win. In the end, the player with the most balls in their corner goals wins.
- Dodgeball – The goal is to kick footballs at your opponent. This is a 2v2 game mode, so the competition will be fiercer. The first team to score 15 points by hitting their opponent wins.
- Foot Tennis – Foot Tennis is also a 2v2 game mode. The objective here is to lob, smash, and volley the ball back and forth with your foot. The game mode is a test for your accuracy skills. To increase your chances of winning, use twisted lobs to fool the opponent. You can also set up for a surprise header and catch your opponent off-guard. Whatever you do, don’t let the ball touch the ground twice, or you’ll lose the game. The first team to score 10 points wins.
- Lava Disco – Both players start the game in the middle of the pitch. The entire pitch is covered in white tiles. The goal of the game is to cover as many white tiles as you can while dribbling the ball before the timer runs out. Once the current set is covered, a new set of white tiles will appear. When the timer runs out, the player with the most white tiles under their name wins.
- Quick Strike – Both players start out in the center of the goal ring. There will be four goals in front of you. The objective is to shoot the ball into the highlighted goal. The player with the highest number of goals at the end of eight rounds wins the game.
- Target Gallery – The objective of this mode is to hit as many targets as possible. The three types of targets are Rings (low points), Giant Player Cutouts, and Golden Single Player Cutouts (most points). The player with the most points wins.
- Team Keepaway – The objective of this mode is to maintain control of the ball throughout the game. To win, you’ll have to take control of the entire — or at least the majority — of the pitch. The winner is decided by the best of three rounds.
- Wall Ball Elimination – The goal here is to kick the ball off the wall as quickly as possible for three rounds. You’re eliminated if your underfoot turn timer expires. Points are awarded based on the order of elimination.
