Battlefield 2042: Beginner’s Guide – Tips and Tricks to Get Started

Battlefield 2042 is the newest addition to the Battlefield series. As expected, the game offers players a fantastic gaming experience, with both new maps and popular maps from previous games. As always, the game really sells the experience of an actual war because combat is happening everywhere. With all different types of vehicles and weapons, you can find battles in the ground, air, and even water. However, Battlefield is a unique FPS game, so it might be a little overwhelming to newcomers. In this article, you will be able to learn about the game, making it a little easier for you to join the Battlefield.

Game Settings

First off, let’s start with the easiest things. Changing some settings in the game can help you be more consistent; things like camera shake can distract you and actually impact your performance. So be sure to lower it to 50, which is the lowest it can go. Battlefield is a chaotic game, with explosions happening everywhere, so you don’t want your camera to be shaking all the time. Be sure to adjust your field of view, as it will help you spot enemies with more ease. You can mess around with it to find the perfect spot for you. Motion blur is something that can distract you, so be sure to set it to zero. None of these settings will affect how the game looks, so don’t worry.

You should also go and mess around with your controller button mapping, especially the sensitivity. After changing these settings, be sure to test them out in solo mode. You will be playing against bots, and this will be great for you to adjust these settings further.

Pick Your Specialists

Battlefield 2042 has different specialists, and each one of them has its unique abilities. Later on, it would be great for you to try all of them so that you can find the right one for you.

Here are some recommendations for some specialists that are really good. Angie is a great class, and he focuses on giving support to his team. He can heal downed allies and drop supply creates that can be used to refill ammo and armor. So if you like being the support, Angie is the right choice for you. But if you want a more defensive choice, Boris is great at defending objectives. His sentry guns will help you defend points and will also give you lots of kill assists in the game. The closer you are to your sentry guns, the more effective they are. If you’re looking for someone that is both good at offense and defense, then Irish is the specialist you’re looking for. He is able to deploy a shield that can take a good beating, and he uses it to close in on enemies, as he can pick it up and deploy it again.

There are ten specialists in total, so be sure to try each one, as each has its own unique skillset. Remember that you can change specialists during the game, so don’t be afraid to change it up during a match.

Load-outs

Another important thing to remember when you’re in the lobby is to go and mess around with your load-outs. You can prepare load-outs for every specialist, so be sure to spend some time choosing different equipment and weapons that will work best for each one of them. Don’t forget to equip attachments to your weapons, and in Battlefield 2042, you can now change your attachments in the middle of the battle. That allows you to be prepared for whatever comes your way since you can change your weapons depending on the situation. This can be a little hard to do in the heat of combat, but it is something that can really help you.

Vehicles

In previous titles, for you to drive a vehicle, you would either need to find it, have someone pick you up, or choose it after respawning back in HQ. Now you can call for vehicles, and if there are any available, they will be airlifted to your location. Vehicles are a big part of Battlefield 2042, and while some of them are not easy to operate, they can make a difference. Be it assisting your team takes a point by having a tank help you pressure the opposing team or taking the battle to the air to assist the ground troops.

Vehicle battles are completely different, so be sure to try piloting as many as you can. Tanks, cars, and boats are easier to pilot, but air vehicles can prove to be more challenging. It is important to remember that you can enter a vehicle and commandeer guns while someone else drives it.
