The Precinct: A Guide to Pursuing Suspects and Utilizing Backup Tactics
The chase is on in The Precinct! When suspects refuse to surrender, it’s your job to take the lead in pursuit. With the right support at your fingertips-like helicopters, cruisers, and even spike strips-you’ll have what you need to apprehend those who think they can escape.
Pursuit
Many SUSPECTS will refuse to Surrender when challenged. You are permitted to engage in pursuit to apprehend SUSPECTS who flee. Care should be taken to protect human life and, where possible, private property.
SUPPORT
The ability to call in Support is an essential element of modern policing. You may request Support by redeeming Support Tokens. You will earn Support Tokens via the following actions:
- Remaining in close proximity with the SUSPECT during a Pursuit
- Neutralizing SUSPECTS during Hostile Encounters
When earned, Support Tokens can be utilized to request:
Helicopter
A HELICOPTER will shine a Spotlight on the SUSPECT, giving ground units better awareness of their Location. This will ensure that the SUSPECT remains visible on the Minimap for an extended period, even when not directly in sight.
Police Cruiser
A POLICE CRUISER will join you in pursuit of the SUSPECT. The car may ram the SUSPECT.
Riot Van
A RIOT VAN will join you in pursuit of the SUSPECT. The van may ram the SUSPECT. Slower than CRUISERS, but possessing a greater capacity for forceful ramming.
Spike Strip
A SPIKE STRIP is deployed ahead of the SUSPECT with the aim of deflating their tires. SUSPECTS may try to bypass roadblocks. Deflated tires may not be enough to stop determined SUSPECTS.
Roadblock
A ROADBLOCK is positioned ahead of the SUSPECT with the aim of ending the Pursuit. SUSPECTS may try to bypass roadblocks.
On-Foot Officer
An ON-FOOT OFFICER will join you in pursuit of the SUSPECT. The officer may shoot the SUSPECT if Lethal Force is authorized.
FOOT PURSUIT
Tackle
When pursuing a SUSPECT on foot, you can attempt to tackle the SUSPECT to the ground. You’ll need to be in close proximity to attempt this, and if you miss, they may escape.
Force Restrain
When pursuing a SUSPECT on foot, you can attempt to grapple the SUSPECT into Compliance. You’ll need to be in close proximity to attempt this, and the SUSPECT may resist.
