Endzone 2 Beginner’s Guide: Tips for New Players

Endzone 2 Beginner’s Guide: Tips for New Players

As in the original game, your main goal in Endzone 2 is to plan, develop, and build your settlement. You’ll have to manage several settlements, keep resources in check, and handle environmental threats in a tough post-apocalyptic world. The new twist? You’ll now need to think harder about zoning and where you put your buildings, as this new feature is key to keeping your economy stable. In this quick guide: we’ll cover the basics and give you some key tips to help you start off well…

Starting Your First Settlement

When you start, you’ll get a truck and need to find a good “zone” to build your settlement; so this is where the new zoning system comes into play:

  • Look for Farmable Land: Growing food is key, so search for zones with lots of good soil for crops.

  • Don’t Forget About Water: Make sure your zone has lakes or other water sources nearby, as you need water to survive.

  • Think About Your Layout: You don’t have much room so place your buildings with care. Try not to put structures where they might block future growth or take up land you could use for farms. I keep houses close to where food is grown to cut down on how far my settlers have to walk.

New Feature: Zoning and Smart Building Placement

Endzone 2: Beginner’s Guide - Tips for New Players

Endzone 2 brings a big change with zoning. Where you put buildings matters more now. Some buildings, like those for the economy and housing, boost each other. They make things work better when they’re close. The same goes for buildings that help the environment and society. You need to think ahead to stack these bonuses. This helps keep your economy strong. I like the challenge of zoning. It adds a new level of strategy to building your settlement.

Resource Management

To keep your settlements alive, you must manage your resources well. Here’s how to handle the basics:

  • Begin by setting up farms on rich soil to raise crops. You can also set up fishing shacks close to bodies of water to ensure a steady fish supply.

  • Set up docks or water pumps near lakes to guarantee a constant water supply. Think about keeping water in tanks to prepare for possible dry spells.

  • Use debris from destroyed buildings to make tools and structures. Trees from forests are crucial for building and fuel.

Moving to New Areas

As your community grows you’ll run out of room… When this happens, it’s time to move to a new area:

  • Use your truck to check out the map and find new areas. Focus on spots with plenty of resources and bigger land sizes…

  • Going outside your settlement plays a key role in collecting resources and earning Knowledge Points, which you need to research. Unlike the first game, Endzone 2 lets you control your vehicles and the people driving them adding a new thrill as you check out different areas. But this might also cause problems with micromanagement for expeditions and looting runs. I’ve learned that watching your vehicles can stop a lot of trouble later on.

Handling multiple settlements needs skills in small-scale management. Use the game’s time controls to pause and think through your moves. You can see the default controls in the game video below.

Progression & Knowledge Points

In Endzone 2, you advance by earning Knowledge Points. You get these points when you finish tasks and go on expeditions:

  • Learn New Tech: Use Knowledge Points to open up new building levels in three areas: Society, Ecology, and Economy. This helps you make better homes, farms, and factories.

  • Go on Expeditions: Take your truck out to look at old ruins and find stuff. These trips often need special tools and give you good rewards like Knowledge Points and resources.

Dealing with Surprise Events

The game throws different challenges at you, like surprise events such as rain dry spells, and illness:

  • Get Ready for Drought: Stock up on food and water when you hear a drought warning. This will help your settlement make it through the dry spell.

  • Fight Sickness: Illness can hit out of nowhere cutting productivity and maybe even killing your people. Set up health centers and store medicine to lessen its impact. I’ve learned it’s always smart to have too much rather than not enough when an outbreak happens.

Supply Chains and Production

The game’s supply chains are crucial to grow your settlement:

  • Scrap and Tools: Find scrap in ruins and use workshops to make it into tools, which you need for many production buildings.

  • Advanced Resources: Kilns produce coal, and brickworks turn clay into bricks. These resources play a key role in upgrading buildings.

  • Herb and Medicine Production: Swamp farms grow herbs. Combining these herbs with plastic creates medicine.
