TFM: The First Men – Settlement Points and Assigments
Assignments and Activities
There are four types of activities in the game: Worktime, Downtime, Path, and Camp.
Worktime activities are suitable for characters with a passion, combat trait, or both. These activities include crafting resources, gaining experience, earning settlement points, and losing energy upon completion. They can be completed in any order and characters will automatically engage in them if they have the necessary tools or facilities.
Downtime activities are intended to alleviate negative traits in characters. When available, characters will stop their worktime activities and engage in downtime activities to alleviate these traits.
Path activities are assigned by the player and involve crafting items based on player-specified orders. When multiple path activities are assigned at the same time, they are queued for completion.
When a party is away from their home region, the player can order them to “encamp.” This will trigger camp activities such as setting up camp, resting, and performing other actions necessary for the party’s survival while on the road.
Settlement Points
Settlement Points are five abstract points associated with a settlement that can be gained through worktime activities. These points are primarily used to choose rewards on the Path panel, but some exceptions may apply.
Prosperity (green) represents a community’s fertility, nourishment, and well-being. Green worktime activities generate Prosperity, which can be used to buy green path rewards. Crafting Impregnation Salve, which increases population, also costs Prosperity.
Industry (blue) represents a community’s productivity, expertise, and consciousness. Blue worktime activities generate Industry, which can be used to buy blue path rewards.
Influence (red) represents a community’s leverage, power, and determination. Red worktime activities generate Influence, which can be used to buy red path rewards.
Unity (white) represents a community’s solidarity, harmony, and spirit. White worktime activities generate Unity, which can be used to buy white path rewards and choose new traditions.
Amenity (black) represents a community’s satisfaction, welfare, and convenience. Black worktime activities generate Amenity, which can be used to buy black path rewards and choose new traditions.
It’s important to take into account how character traits may affect point accumulation when planning activities.
