How to Do a Fake Shot in FIFA 22
In a 1-on-1 with the goalkeeper, use the fake shot and bring the ball to the side. The goalkeeper will commit and falls to the ground, presenting you with an empty net to tap into. This is very useful when you are using a striker with average shooting attributes. A scoring chance is hard to come by, and the fake shot technique increases your chances of scoring.
To do a fake shot in FIFA 22, you’ll need to be pretty quick on the buttons. When you’re through on goal and ready to trick the keeper with your silky skills, press Circle (PlayStation) / B (Xbox) as you normally would for a shot, but instantly press X (PlayStation) / A B (Xbox) straight after. You almost want to roll your thumb across the buttons one after the other. At the same time, you need to have the left analog stick in the direction that you want your player to turn following the fake shot.
It can take some getting used to, especially when the pressure is on and you have defenders breathing down your neck. If you’re struggling to nail the method in a match, use FIFA 22’s practice arena to get to grips with it.
You can also do a running fake shot in FIFA 22. To execute a Running Fake Shot;
- PS4 / PS5: Press Circle then X quickly while holding R2
- Xbox One/ Series X: Press B then A quickly while holding RT
