To get redwood trees, you’re going to need another bomb to blow the rock up, blocking the forest, and a new axe; the basic axe won’t cut down redwood trees. (Tip: when you cut the redwood trees down, don’t dig the stumps up, the trees will grow back, and you’ll get more seeds this way since you won’t have to replant the trees)
After you blow up the rock blocking your path to the forest, walk in the forest some, then go back to Sally and she will have a bronze axe blueprint for you, buy it, get the materials and craft your new axe so you can chop down redwood trees.
