Dinkum Hunting: The Ultimate Guide
Hunting is an important part of progressing in Dinkum. Your hunting skill level will increase as you kill the animals in your playthrough. However, as you come across more powerful animals, hunting will become much more challenging. All you have to do is craft various weapons to hunt different types of animals. You can hunt solo in single-player mode or with friends in Co-Op. Also, when an NPC is friendly enough, you can ask them to hang out, and they will help you do tasks such as mining, woodcutting, etc. They will also help you fight and hunt. Additionally, you can get a pet dog later, which helps you hunt.
Crocodile hunting is a good way to make money early on because three cooked croc meat sell for 5250. Also, teeth are more valuable, and a croc always drops three items, one of which is a random combination of teeth and meat. You can also capture the crocodiles with a trap, put the trap on your boat, and then easily row back to your drop-off location.
How to Trap Animals in Dinkum?
To be caught, an animal must run over a trap. It is best to weaken an animal before forcing it into the trap. Otherwise, it will simply break free. Aggressive animals are simple to handle. Hit them a few times before moving behind your set trap, then they’ll run into the trap when they rush toward you in their attack animation. Keep in mind though that you don’t want to trap them within one or two squares of the delivery point, because sometimes they will immediately get lifted off and you won’t get a delivery notification. In this case, you’d lose the trap and not get the reward the next day.
