Disney Speedstorm Racer Classes Breakdown: Choose Your Champion
It’s been a while since we’ve enjoyed a truly unique kart racing game, and the recent release of Disney Speedstorm definitely hits the mark. It delivers solid karting action, fantastic handling, and a clear focus on the charm and detail of its characters and courses, featuring a diverse selection of Disney and Pixar favorites.
When choosing a racer class in Disney Speedstorm, it’s important to consider your personal playstyle and the distinct attributes each class offers: Speedster, Trickster, Brawler, or Defender. Each class boasts unique playstyles, passive & active effects, bonuses, and abilities.
Speedster Class
If you’re all about speed and agility, the Speedster class is perfect for you. This class is designed for players who want to reach maximum velocity on the track. Racers in this class benefit from an increased baseline top speed.
- Dash Effect: Gain an automatic boost after hitting a rival racer with a dash.
- Boost Pads: These track features add extra charge to your manual boost bar.
- Class Skills: Rush and Boost. Rush extends the dash distance, while Boost offers an instant Nitro fuel gain or a larger amount over time.
- Available Speedster Racers: Mickey, Belle, Mowgli, and Mike Wazowski.
Trickster Class
If you’re the kind of player who loves stirring up some mayhem and throwing your opponents off balance, then you’ll totally dig the Trickster class. These sly racers are masters at messing with their rivals, thanks to their nimble moves and clever tricks. Plus, they score a sweet bonus to their boost duration, so they can keep the chaos going even longer. Get ready to unleash your inner mischief-maker with the Trickster class!
- Dash Effect: Temporarily confuse opponents by inverting their controls after hitting them with a dash.
- Drift Boosting: Execute stunts and tricks mid-air to fill your manual boost bar more quickly.
- Class Skills: Hack either releases a disruptive projectile or spawns a destructive wall behind the racer. The second skill allows racers to toss an explosive item ahead or behind.
- Available Trickster Racers: Jack Sparrow, Meg, Mulan, Randall, and Figment.
Defender Class
For players who prefer a more defensive playstyle, the Defender class offers abilities that focus on deflecting and evading. Defenders get boosts to their acceleration stat, which determines how fast they can accelerate, and/or their combat stat, which dictates how long the stun effect lasts when stunning a rival racer.
- Dash Effect: Automatically activate a shield after hitting an opponent with a dash.
- Manual Boost Ability: Obtain extra charge for the manual boost bar by racing in your rivals’ slipstreams.
- Class Skills: Shield and Cloak. Shield generates an aura that either protects the racer from a hit or stuns an opponent, while Cloak grants temporary invisibility and the option to stun enemies upon reappearing.
- Available Defender Racers: Goofy, Shang, Baloo, Elizabeth Swann, and Celia May.
Brawler Class
If you’re a fan of bold, combat-focused gameplay, the Brawler class is right up your alley. Brawlers receive a bonus to their handling stats, which makes them better at turning and drifting.
- Dash Effect: Stun rival racers after hitting them with a dash.
- Manual Boost Ability: Earn Nitro fuel by stunning opponents.
- Class Skills: Fire and Shot. Fire can activate a fiery aura or explosion, or generate a fire trail, while Shot lets racers shoot either an unguided or guided projectile.
- Available Brawler Racers: Donald Duck, Hercules, Beast, and Sully.
