Car Mechanic Simulator 2021 – How to Fix Missing & Lost Save Files

Losing your saved data is one of the most frustrating experiences in gaming. If you’ve lost your save file due to a crash, corruption, or a sudden reversion to an earlier state, try the following solutions to recover or mitigate the issue:

1) Reload Your Backup

If you have a backup of your save files, try reloading it. Unfortunately, if you’re using the same profile slot for a new game, backing up might not be possible.

Save Game Data Location

To manually access your save files, follow these steps:

WINDOWS:

Navigate to your save files using the following path, replacing “Username” with the name you set during Windows installation:

Alternatively, you can access the location by copy-pasting the following shortcut into your file explorer:

Note: If you can’t see the folder, it might be hidden. To display hidden folders:

Open File Explorer from the taskbar.

Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.

Go to the View tab.

Under Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and click OK.

2) Use Cheat Codes If You Completely Lost Your Save Files

If you have completely lost your saved data, you can use the cheat codes provided in the game to restore some progress. When starting a new profile, choose one of the codes depending on how much money and experience you want to start with.

Important: When you first start the game, you must decline to play the tutorial. If you don’t, the game may crash.

cms2021stage1 – This code will promote you to level 5 and give you an extra $4,000 cash bonus in the game.

cms2021stage2 – This code will promote you to level 12 and give you an extra $50,000 cash bonus in the game.

3) Update Your Game

Ensure your game is up-to-date to prevent save file issues. Sometimes, an outdated version can cause multiple problems. To update the game, follow these steps:

Launch your Origin client and click on My Game Library.

Right-click on Car Mechanic Simulator 2021 and select Repair.

Once the repair is complete, right-click on the game again and choose Update Game.

If an update is available, it will automatically download and install.

After updating, run Car Mechanic Simulator 2021 to check whether the missing save file issue has been resolved.
