Shapez 2: Beginner's Guide - Essential Tips for New Players

Tips and Tricks for Beginners in Shapez 2.

Start Small, Think Big…

  • When you begin, focus on making simple shapes like squares and circles. These basic shapes serve as the foundation for more complex designs and will constitute most of your production…

  • Start by creating simple assembly lines for these shapes. For example, use a cutting tool to change squares into circles, and set up a basic conveyor system to move them around.

  • As you become more comfortable, I suggest adding new shapes like triangles and diamonds. Grow your factory bit by bit making sure each new addition enhances your current production lines instead of making separate disconnected systems.

Learn How to Use the Blueprint System

  • Blueprints have a revolutionary impact on factory setup management. They give you the ability to store and copy winning designs without hassle. To make a blueprint, pick the section of your factory you wish to preserve and save it with the blueprint feature.

  • When you grow your factory, blueprints prove super helpful to copy effective designs without starting over. Put your blueprints in groups (such as production chains or resource handling) so you can find and apply them when you need to.

  • Update your blueprints to show any changes or improvements you’ve made. This ensures your blueprints always show your best setups.

Expand Strategically…

  • Shapez 2 brings in new tools and shapes as you hit milestones. I recommend you don’t rush these milestonesá…³make sure you get a good grip on the current tools and shapes before you move forward.

  • Make sure your expansion matches what your factory needs right now. Before you make things more complex, fix any bottlenecks you’re facing. I also suggest you plan your factory layout so each production step flows into the next cutting down on hold-ups and waste.

  • Be clever with your space – set up your production lines to cut down on unnecessary shape movement. Make the most of your resources to reduce waste and keep production running without a hitch.

Understanding Shape Production

  • Every shape has its own production needs. To make a triangle from a square, you need to cut and reshape it… Learn these steps for each shape to set up production lines that work well.

  • Combiners and splitters play a crucial role in controlling how shapes move between production stages. They help maintain steady output and avoid holdups. Stackers and sorters will keep your production lines neat and make sure shapes are processed in the right order.

Organize Your Belts and Stackers

  • Put your belts in the right spots to make sure shapes move through your factory. Don’t cross belts and give shapes the shortest route to where they need to go.

  • I’ve found that belt splitters and mergers help control how shapes spread out and keep the factory in balance. Stackers play a key role in handling lots of shapes and stopping overflow. Put them where they can gather and give out shapes well without slowing down production.

  • Watch your stackers and move them around as needed to keep up with your factory’s growing needs…

Watch Out for Tricky Rotations

  • Shapez 2’s rotation tools play a key role in changing the direction of belts and cutters. To process shapes, you need to get good at using these tools.

  • Test out different rotation angles to figure out the best setup for your factory layout. When you’re setting up rotations, keep an eye out for visual hints and signs. These help you make sure shapes move the right way and stop production problems from happening.

Use the Shape Preview

  • The shape preview tool proves super useful. It shows you how shapes will work before you set up your factory. I use this feature to map out my production lines and catch possible issues.

  • Look at the preview to ensure each production stage links and runs well. If something looks wrong, fix it before you lock in your design.

Stack Shapes

  • Stacking shapes has an impact on managing multiple production lines and cutting down on congestion. Stackers come in handy to handle and sort shapes.

  • Keep an eye on how you place stackers to make sure they line up right with your production lines.

  • As your factory gets bigger you’ll need to deal with more tricky stacking setups. Think ahead about where to put your stackers to handle different shapes without slowing things down or creating bottlenecks.
