The focus mode allows patrol officers to receive more information in a lot of situations. It’s activated by right click with a mouse or pressing LT with a gamepad. It can be used to:

 

  • Focus on license plates. This not only zooms onto the license plate, but it also generates an entry in the Background check application on the police computer. Also, focusing on license plates of vehicles in an accident provides bonus points.

 

  • Focus on wanted suspects. Looking like a wanted person is enough evidence to detain a person. Focusing this person gives patrol officers a hint if the focused person can be the wanted suspect. Do this to avoid lengthy ID checks for a lot of pedestrians.

 

  • Focus on drug dealers. This provides the information if the observed interaction was a drug deal.
