Using a controller after game launch may result in the inability to use its Start button to join for local Keyboard+Mouse & Controller co-op.

 

Avoid using a controller before the hero selection screen

 

Launch the game and reach the hero selection screen by only using the mouse, then press Start on the controller.

 

Restart the game in the event of Start only functioning as the launch button.
