FIFA 22: Advanced Passing Guide
Passing Tutorial
In FIFA 22, there are a variety of sophisticated Passing techniques. The assistance mechanics in FIFA 22 make it very easy to deliver greatness through passes. However, if you want them to be perfect, you’ll need to be aware of your target player’s run and time it appropriately. We’ve covered almost all of the advanced Passing types available in the game.
The backheel pass is a terrific and frequently awesome pass to keep your momentum when playing ball. Back Heel Pass is executed by pressing LT + A (Xbox One & Series X I S) or L2 + X (PS4 & PS5). If you’re trying to back heel a ball that is coming at you with a bit of spin on it, either stop it dead and try the back heel or judge the spin and use the ball’s momentum to push it along with your heel. You won’t hit it directly in the middle if it is spinning, so look to judge your touch accordingly. The back heel is used to catch defenders off balance, so don’t try it so often that the element of surprise is gone. Once or twice in a game is enough.
When you need to send a ground pass over a longer distance, use a driven ground pass. It increases power without sacrificing accuracy. It’s also a good idea to use a driven ground pass for mid-range passes because they move much faster than a standard pass and are much more difficult to intercept.
A lofted pass is a cross between a lobbed and a driven pass. It has more power and height, but not to the point of having too much of either. You can use it in various situations, but it is especially effective when directing the ball towards a striker’s feet.
To use all of the passes to their maximum potential, you’ll eventually need to master them all. To do so, a great place to start is with some of FIFA 22’s passing-focused skill games. Here’s a list of all of them, from the most basic to the most advanced.
