Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector – Contracts, Crew, and Hazards Explained
YOUR MAP allows you to travel between HUBS and CONTRACTS and can be accessed via the MAP BUTTON to the left of the DICE.
Travelling to different HUBS through the Belt requires FUEL, and an engine with enough capacity to make the trip.
You will also have to select a vector that does not cross any HAZARDS. Some HAZARDS may be navigable with future upgrades, such as the HAZNAV SUITE.
CONTRACTS are high-risk, high-reward jobs that you and your CREW can take on. CONTRACTS require preparation and care to succeed. You’ll need to:
- Gather enough FUEL to travel to the contract.
- Gather as many SUPPLIES as you can afford to keep you and your crew going.
- Look for opportunities to recruit CREW (temporarily or permanently) to help you on a contract.
- Consider which CREW to take carefully: they have different SKILLS and STRESS resistances, and who you choose can affect the story.
Once you are ready, you can select the CONTRACT from the MAP and then your CREW to proceed.
CONTRACTS are high-risk missions that take you away from HUBS.
While on a CONTRACT, you will be able to assign 2 CREW DICE for each CREW MEMBER, as you would assign your own DICE. Pay attention to the crew’s SKILLS to use them effectively.
On certain outcomes, crew will take CREW STRESS. When their stress is full, you will no longer be able to use them to perform actions.
While on a CONTRACT, your ENERGY BAR will automatically be SUPPLIED for each cycle that you have available SUPPLIES. When your supplies are depleted, both you and your crew will take 1 STRESS PER CYCLE.
CONTRACTS also have their own CONTRACT STRESS. When this bar is filled, the CONTRACT will FAIL.
The CONTRACT STRESS display may have “(!)” markers on it. These indicate a CRISIS that will trigger when the CONTRACT STRESS reaches that level.
A CRISIS is a special location that has DICE ACTIONS and a CLOCK. If this CLOCK is FILLED, the CRISIS is resolved. For every active CRISIS, the CONTRACT STRESS will increase by 1 per cycle. You do not have to resolve the CRISIS to complete the CONTRACT.
