Roots of Pacha is a cozy, relaxing farming and life simulation game set in the Stone Age, filled with various activities, including fishing. This comprehensive and easy-to-follow guide will provide you with all the information necessary to excel at fishing in Roots of Pacha. You’ll learn about essential tools, prime locations for catching different fish species, and even some tips for turning your catch into mouthwatering meals.

Fishing Tools

In Roots of Pacha, you can use the following tools for fishing:

  • Handaxe: This is the initial tool you’ll acquire for fishing in the game.

  • Spear: Obtainable through the “A New Way of Fishing” quest.

  • Fishing Pole: An alternative method for fishing (not available at the beginning of the game).

How to Fish: Step-by-Step Guide:

  • Select a fishing spot: You can fish in various bodies of water, such as rivers, lakes, and oceans.

  • Choose your fishing tool: Select the Handaxe, Spear, or Fishing Pole, depending on your preference and the tools you’ve unlocked.

  • Start fishing: Walk up to the water and use your chosen fishing tool. If using the Handaxe, a small pool with fish outlines will appear.

  • Target a fish: Position your cursor over a fish, and a circle with a meter underneath will be displayed. Keep the cursor centered within the circle to fill the meter segments. By maintaining the cursor inside the circle for several seconds, you’ll gain a catching speed bonus.

  • Observe the fish’s response: Occasionally, fish will become startled, and a “!” shaped meter will appear. Move the cursor away from the circle until the “!” disappears.

  • Reel in the fish: Once the standard meter is filled, press the interact button to catch the fish. You can attempt to catch a fish with a partially filled meter, but your odds of success will be lower.
