Fix: Controller Not Working on PC
Follow these steps to troubleshoot and fix controller issues in Days Gone on PC.
Method #1: Configure Controller via Steam
- Launch Steam.
- Click Steam in the top-left corner.
- Go to Settings.
- Select Controller from the menu.
- Click General Controller Settings.
- Check the box for your controller type (e.g., PlayStation Configuration Support).
- Return to the main settings menu and click OK.
- Launch Days Gone and test the controller.
When to Plug In the Controller
- Always connect the controller before launching the game. Plugging it in mid-launch may cause issues.
Reinstalling the Drivers
- Right-click the Windows Start button.
- Open Device Manager.
- Locate your controller under the device list.
- Right-click it and select Uninstall Device.
- Restart your PC with the controller connected.
- Windows will auto-reinstall the drivers.
Method #2: Use Xbox 360 Controller Emulator
- Download x360ce from https://www.x360ce.com
- Select the 64-bit version for Days Gone.
- Run x360ce_x64.exe in the Days Gone installation folder.
- Click Create to generate configuration files.
- Extract the downloaded ZIP file into the game’s folder.
- Ensure your controller is plugged in via USB.
Follow the setup prompts:
- Click Next and Finish after calibration.
- Navigate to the Game Settings tab.
- Click Apply/Synchronize Settings, then OK.
- Go to the Controller 1 tab and click Save.
- Launch the game—your controller should now work.
