This guide will walk you through the steps to get your controller (gamepad, joystick) working with It Takes Two.
Method #1
- Launch Steam.
- In the top left, click on Steam.
- Go to Settings.
- Click on Controller.
- Click the GENERAL CONTROLLER SETTING button.
- Select/Check your gaming controller, such as PlayStation Configuration Support.
- Go back and click OK.
- Launch the game and check if your controller is working.
When to plug in the controller
Make sure to connect the controller before starting It Takes Two. Connecting it while the game is launching may cause issues.
Reinstalling the drivers
Follow these steps to reinstall your controller drivers:
- Right-click the Windows Start button.
- Select Device Manager.
- Find your controller in the device list.
- Right-click on the controller and select Uninstall device.
- Restart your PC with the controller plugged in.
- The drivers will be reinstalled automatically.
Method #2
- Download the Xbox 360 Controller Emulator from: https://www.x360ce.com.
- Click the Download for 64-bit games button.
- This tool supports all joystick versions, including PS4 and Logitech controllers.
- Run the x360ce_x64.exe application in the It Takes Two folder.
- Click Create.
- Extract the zip file into the folder where It Takes Two is installed.
- Ensure the controller is plugged in.
- Click Create again.
- Click Next.
- Click Finish.
- Go to the Game Settings tab.
- Click Apply/Synchronize Settings.
- Click OK.
- Go to the Controller 1 tab.
- Click Save.
- That’s it! You’re ready to play It Takes Two with your controller.
