So you’re trying to get all gamey with Scrapnaut and your controller’s acting all aloof? No worries!! Let’s tackle that.
The Steam Route
- Pop open Steam.
- Dive into the Settings.
- Spot that Controller option? Click it.
- Hit “GENERAL CONTROLLER SETTING”.
- Check your gaming gear. Like if you’re rocking a PlayStation, click that PlayStation Configuration Support.
- Click OK and fire up “Scrapnaut”. Fingers crossed!
Quick Tip: Always, and I mean always, plug in that controller before starting up “Scrapnaut”. Plugging it in mid-launch can make things all kinds of wonky.
Drivers? Reinstall ‘Em
- Right-click that Windows start button.
- Choose Device Manager.
- Hunt down your controller in the list.
- Right-click it, then Uninstall device.
- Reboot your PC (with the controller plugged in!). Those drivers will spruce themselves up.
Going the Emulator Route
- Download the Xbox 360 Controller Emulator from here.
- Grab the “Download for 64-bit games” button.
- This bad boy’s good with PS4, Logitech, and more.
- Once downloaded, run the x360ce_x64.exe right inside the Scrapnaut folder.
- Click Create and then extract the contents to where “Scrapnaut” is chillin’.
- Make sure your USB’s in snug.
- Hit Create, then Next, and finally Finish.
- Now, head to Game Settings.
- Smash that “Apply/Synchronize Settings” button.
- Click OK, jump to the Controller 1 tab, and hit Save.
